SNOWGRIP! Do you believe in love at first sight?
The metal roofing industry has had a “love/hate” relationship with snow retention systems. While the inability to control the release of snow may be the only major weakness of metal roofing, the industry has not embraced snow retention systems. SNOWGRIP, a new “first of its kind” snow retention coating, may be the system the metal roofing industry has been waiting for!
www.snowgripit.com has been designed to create SNOWGRIP believers in ten minutes or less. The 8-minute video on the home page and 30-second video on the 4th page provide an efficient orientation to SNOWGRIP with powerful imagery and an easily understood presentation. The site has applications for contractors, specs for architects and an online “Request for Price Quotation” form.
In addition to impressive snow retention capability, SNOWGRIP benefits include easy installation, affordability, enhanced roof performance/energy savings and more. SNOWGRIP has patents pending in the US and Canada and is available immediately to install before next winter’s snow falls.
SNOWGRIP is a “must see” product!
SNOWGRIP is a two-part Monolithic Abrasive Snow Retention Coating for metal roofs located in snow country. SNOWGRIP is so effective and so simple to install, it will enable Metal Roofing Manufactures to address their snow retention problem, while gaining market share against asphalt and membrane roofing. SNOWGRIP is designed to coat the entire roof to prevent any portion of the snow pack from beginning to slide.
SNOWGRIP promotes a uniform lightweight dehydrated insulating snow layer that remains on the roof. The base coat is a top quality liquid rubber membrane roof coat that bonds to the metal roof surface and secures the topping application of special abrasive granules that protrude from the SNOWGRIP surface. Snow and ice conforms to SNOWGRIP’S abrasive textured surface, creating a bond like none other in the roofing industry. The gravitational forces quickly bring the melt water into contact with SNOWGRIP roof surface. The traveling water efficiently flows off the roof system through natural airspaces, which formed below the insulating snow layer and between the raise SNOWGRIP granules.
The insurance industry doesn’t offer coverage for those who are injured or killed by ice and snow falling off roofs, calling such occurrences an “Act of GOD”. These insurance practices place an extreme liability on building owners and others.
The SNOWGRIP “hybrid” metal roof solution will save millions spent on litigation, property damage and maintenance costs associated with snow slide accidents and ice dam claims. “SNOWGRIP is most likely a field applied application, but it may be possible to develop a pre-erection or factory applied finish.” A SNOWGRIP spokesman stated “The product is an ideal new profit center for a metal building contractor network and will create opportunities for theses contractors to provide additional service to past customers.”
SNOWGRIP is in the process of applying for an Energy Star Partnership. SNOWGRIP has several colors that are extremely reflective, reducing solar heat during the summer months. SNOWGRIP will also save energy in the winter, maintaining a dehydrated lightweight insulating snow layer on roof’s surface.
SNOWGRIP inventor Wes Fontecchio has spent years coating old metal roofs and repairing the damage caused by sliding ice and snow. A team including an architect and construction professionals formed to develop and market SNOWGRIP.
